SHELL PETROLEUM RESUMES REHABILITATION OF OGBOTOBO FLOWSTATION

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) has through the award of a contract commenced the rehabilitation of ogbotobo Flow station in Western Niger Delta to restore the power system of the facility.

SPDC has plan to restart the facility in order to awaken operations at the flow station which were suspended at the militancy insurgence in the Niger Delta in 2006 and as well to support resumption of oil production from the entire Ogbotobo field in Bayelsa State.

According to Mr. Tony Okonedo, Shell’s Corporate Media Relations Manager, the contract which was awarded to an indigenous firm, LEE Engineering and Construction Nigeria Limited covers replacement of the station’s power generation and distribution system. 

The Shell personnel also reveal that operations will immediately commence at Ogbotobo Flowstation once the rehabilitation is completed.
