Super Eagles goalkeepers’ trainer, Aloy Agu is in pains over the latest report that shows that the team’s first choice keeper, Carl Ikeme won’t be fit for the match against Algeria.

According to CEOAFRICA’s source, Sun, Agu said that the Ikeme injury report was nothing but sad. He was however quick to add that he now expects whoever is picked as replacement for injured Carl Ikeme to step up and justify his selection.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah shot stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Portugal based Dele Alampasu are the other goalkeepers on the squad for the World Cup qualifier. The duo are now to be joined by Daniel Akpeyi who yesterday received a late call up.

“Ikeme’s injury is really a sad news to me personally and the entire technical crew. It shouldn’t have been this time when we have a crucial world cup qualifier. However, what it means is that it’s time for the other goalkeepers to now prove their invitation to the national team on several occasions is not a fluke,” Agu, the Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain for several years said.
