Finally, Lagos rolls out Lake Rice Wednesday at N12,000 per bag

The long awaited Lake Rice of the Lagos State Government will be rolled out on Wednesday in the three senatorial districts of the state at a cost of N12,000 per 50 kg bag.

The government had told the public that the rice would be available from 15 December, but it failed to meet up with the promise due to certain hitches.

CEOAFRICA gathered that the rice would now be made available tomorrow as the price has further been crashed from N13,000 to N12,000.

The Lake Rice is meant to cushion the effect of economic recession.

Top government sources confirmed that the price of the 50 kilogramme rice had been reduce to N12, 000, following complaints received by the government over the price of the commodity.

The rice will no longer sell in all local governments and local council development areas as earlier announced by the government, but now on the three senatorial districts.

The new locations arein the three senatorial districts where the rice will be sold are:

Lagos East: Ikorodu -Odogunyan Farm Service Centre; Epe -Temu Farm Service Centre; Eredo -Noforija Town Hall, Ibeju -Magbon Alade High School and Maryland -SUBEB premises

Lagos West: Agege – LSADA Complex/Farm Service Centre; Ojo -LAISA Office Agric Bus Stop; Muwo-Coconut House; Badagry-Town Farm Service Centre; Marina, Oshodi-Ikeja Grammar School, Bolade.

Lagos Central: Ajah -Ministry of Agric Area Office; Lagos Island-LASTMA Office Adeniji/Freeman; Ajegunle-Alakoto Senior High School, Tolu; Surulere -Teslim Balogun Stadium; Yaba-Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park.
