Maiduguri’s university mosque bombed.

Twin bomb blasts occurred in the early hours of today, in a mosque at the University of Maiduguri in Borno State, killing Professor, four others and injuring 17 people.

Ceoafrica gathered that the bomb explosion rocked the university at 6:30am, while some students and staff of the university were observing prayer.

Security personnel were mobilized to the scene of the attack, and emergency workers have evacuated the bodies of those killed to the mortuary with those injured moved to a nearby hospital within Maiduguri town.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the incident and reported that the twin blasts at, University of Maiduguri occurred at about 5am in the morning.

According to the NEMA spokesperson, Sani Datti, “one of the suicide bombers detonated his bomb at a Mosque near gate 1, when people were observing their early morning prayer, the second one occurred around gate 5 of the University.”
