UNIOSUN Student sent to Prison for Killing Colleague

A student of University of Osun, Akanbi David has been remanded in prison by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court, headed by Chief Magistrate Olushola Aluko, on Tuesday, for the stabbing to death of another student.

The prosecutor, Mr Mereti Wilson told the court that Akanbi committed the offence on 16th of January, 2017 around 5.00pm

According to the charge, “Akanbi David and others now at large, on the 16th day of January, 2017 at about 1700hrs at Oke-Baale area, Osogbo in the Osogbo magisterial district, did conspire to commit felony to wit:  murder and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 324 of Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

“Akanbi David and others now at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully kill one Amodu Kazeem Ige by stabbing him with a knife on his chest which caused his death and thereby committed an offence contrary to 316(1) and punishable under Section 319(1)  of the Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.”
