As the Ghanaian government led by Nana Akufo-Addo continues to look for more than 200 vehicles that it says went missing under the previous administration, President Akufo-Addo has banned the purchase of new state vehicles.
According to Ceoafrica, the moratorium applies to all government ministries, departments and agencies, with the order that those affected should use the existing fleet of vehicles in their respective transport pools.
After previous transfers of power, state-owned cars have been seized from officials who did not return them.
It was learnt that the president's own official car is 10 years old and that he has been riding in and out and to ensure that the country’s resources are being managed judiciously.
