Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, would in line with the educational policy thrust of the state government, become a hub for technological development in the country, rector of the institution, Prof. (Mrs.) Stella Chinye Chiemeke has said.
Chiemeke disclosed this recently during her maiden meeting with Principal Officers, Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments in the polytechnic shortly after
her assumption of duty as the new rector of the institution.
She stated that the management of the institution under her watch would consolidate on the achievements of her predecessor in order to drive the process that would
place the school in a comfortable position among the league of reputable polytechnics in the globe.
According to her, there should be high level of cooperation and team work among members of staff in the institution in order to stimulate technological growth and promote entrepreneurial development initiative which, she said, were part of the dreams of the founding fathers of the polytechnic.
“I will foster robust working relationship between management, staff and all stakeholders in the polytechnic, including the host community,” Chiemeke said, adding that she would run a transparent, fair but firm administration that would be characterised by integrity, objectivity, accountability and patriotism.
While applauding the developmental strides of the immediate past Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. (Mrs.) Edna Nneka Mogekwu and her team for taking the institution from obscurity to international recognition.
