Eid-El-Fitr- Police warn against use of Fire Crackers, Knockout in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has warned the public against use of Knockouts,Fire crackers and other forms of fireworks during the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.

The command in a statement by its spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed stated that the use of fireworks and knockouts constitute a security risk as it is capable of misleading security personnel and create fear in the minds of the peace loving citizens.

"In view of this, Parents and Guardians are advised to warn their Children and wards from purchasing and using knockouts as the law governing the sales, purchase and use of Fireworks is still in Force.

"The Command is fully prepared and ready to ensure that law abiding citizens enjoy the Eid Celebrations peacefully. Groups or persons desiring and preparing to truncate this noble intention are warned to desist as any breach of the public peace will attract severe Legal consequences,"it added.

The command further assured the general public that the Eid-El-Fitr celebration will be conducted peacefully like the previous ones God's willing‎.

It also reiterated its commitment to ensure Safety and Security of lives and properties before, during and after the Celebrations.

"To this end, the cooperation of members of the public are being solicited,"the statement added.
