CEOAfrica to host Ex-UI DLC Boss, Prof Okunade Today

The immediate past Director of Distance Learning Centre (DLC), University of Ibadan, Professor Bayo Okunade is scheduled to make an appearance at CEOAfrica, an online media platform, today, Friday 21st July, 2017 by 10am.

The Professor of Political Science at the University of Ibadan, who will be featuring as a guest on ‘Community Today’, an educative and informative programme airing on CEOAfrica online television, will discuss the topic ‘Creation of More Universities as a solution to Admission Challenges’.

The media chat which would hold at the CEOAfrica Building at 24, Kudeti Avenue, Onireke, Ibadan, will witness the presence of journalists from other media organisations who will engage the Professor on various issues relating to university admission challenges.

The Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed had recently expressed the need to create more universities in Nigeria in order to tackle the challenge of limited admission spaces in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

Blaming the difficult admission process on the few numbers of universities in the country, Prof Rasheed hoped that 100 more universities will be created in five years in order to absorb more candidates seeking admission.

Professor Bayo Okunade, who is a member of the African Council for Distance Education (ACDE) and the International Council for Distance Education, will at the media chat, express his opinion on the establishment of more universities as a solution to admission challenges.

Prof Okunade who is also an Associate Member, eSTEeM Network, UK, was the Director, Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (CEPACS), University of Ibadan (2004-2007) and former Head, Department of Political Science. He is a member of many local and international associations and has held numerous positions of leadership.
