Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the well-being of all residents of the state, saying that his government would impact positively on the lives of the people through robust and effective planning.

Akeredolu spoke, on Wednesday, during the unveiling and public presentation of the blueprint of his administration by the Strategic Development and Policy Implementation Committee (SDPIC) at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, the state capital.

The governor inaugurated the SDPIC on December 29, 2016, to prepare a blueprint that would guild his administration in fulfilling his campaign promises.

He also said that his administration recognised the significance of planning for the realisation of any aspiration towards real development,

According to him, “We are convinced that there can be no impactful stride taken by any government without adequate planning. We hold dear the philosophy of making haste slowly. We believe it is more profitable for us to proceed assuredly than to embark on any unorganized pastime which accommodates tokenism and peripheral attention extended to systemic problems of existence in the state.

“The knowledge of the real situation of things assists in planning. It gives a clear vision of the itinerary of the government and the best way possible to chart a realistic course of development.

“It is veritable template through which the viability of programmes is measured. It is the check list, a scientific guide which approximates the visions of serious leaders. It is the surest way to address all socio-economic challenges,” he added.

Akeredolu tasked all the state functionaries, including commissioners, special advisers and head of agencies to adopt the compendium of the recommendation for discharging their duties.

He asked the commissioners and Special Advisers to justify the quality of performance by working assiduously with the compendium.

Chairman of the SDPIC Steering Committee, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, who is also the deputy governor, said the compendium contained the architecture of the current state government’s philosophy, policy and programmes, as well as the strategies of achieving them.

He added that the blueprint provided an indebt exposure to constraints currently encountered by the state as well as the potential and possibilities available.
