Family, Friends eulogise Late Mrs Otesile ahead of Burial

Tributes and eulogies have begun to pour in from family and friends of late Chief (Mrs) Agnes Olajumoke Otesile (Nee Sodeinde), who passed on at the age of 73, to honour and celebrate her life and achievements ahead of her funeral service which commences on 21st September, 2017.

According to a statement made available to CEOAfrica by the family of the late matriarch, the burial programme will kick off on Thursday 21st September, 2017 with the laying in state at her residence in Iju Ishaga, Lagos from 4:00pm. The Wake Keep ceremony will be done the same day by 5:00 pm at the St John Anglican Church, Iju Ishaga.

The funeral arrangements will continue on Friday, 22nd September, 2017 with the main burial ceremony which will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Montgomery Road, Yaba, Lagos.

Late Mrs Otesile, who is survived by her husband, Chief Isaac Otesile, her children and grandchildren, was showered with wonderful encomiums by her relatives and friends in a glowing tribute written in her honour.

While describing the 45 years spent with his late wife as blissful, Chief Isaac Otesile who felt heartbroken by the loss of his wife said “I have lost an irreplaceable partner and gem, a companion, an advocate, a confidant, a reliable friend and indeed a cherished wife.”

Late Chief Mrs Otesile was born on 24th May, 1944 at Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government in Ogun State to Pa Lawrence and Madam Abigail Sodeinde. She had her primary school education at Wasimi Station. Her Secondary Education was done at Anglican Girls’ School, Ibereko before proceeding for Secretarial Studies in Lagos.

The late matriarch worked with the United Trading Company (UTC) and Toki Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, Lagos before establishing a successful business enterprise with her husband.

Mrs Otesile was a devout Christian who was actively involved in the service of God at the All Saints’ Anglican Church. She was a member of the Busy Bee Society of the Church, a member of Mothers’ Union and Women’s Guild, a Matron of the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade of the church as well as a matron of other Christian Societies.  

Until her death, she was married to Mr Isaac Otesile and was blessed with beautiful and successful children and grandchildren.
