The operatives of the Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) team led by CSP Alhmed Sanusi have discovered a shocking jungle joint at Alaba International market in Ojo Local Government where robbers are reportedly  recruited for operation.

The notorious jungle is called Alaba joints located inside Television line at Alaba Market where bandits assembly for recruitment for any operation.

CEOAFRICA source reports the place offers service such as hired assassination, robbery, cultism, gang war and other vices as the patrons may need their services.

It was gathered that the place also offers drug service such as Cocaine, Heroine, tramadols, scorns, transit joint and money laundering and other criminal vices.

The discovery followed the arrested of a 28-year old armed robbery suspect, Ifeanyi Ohanuka with locally made pistol and he confessed how he and other suspects were recruited into robbery gang at the joint.

Abia State-born Ohanuka revealed how he was deported from South Africa and out of frustration, he was initiated and he joined the group.

He said after he served jail term in South Africa for drug related offence, he was deported and he had nothing to fall back on until his friend, Chidi Okafor introduced him into the group and since then he was into full operation in robbery business.

Ohanuka said through out the time he was in the robbery operation, he was always conscious of the fact that the police will one day catch up with his gang and he took some measures.

He revealed one of such measures was that before he goes out for operation, he usually eat his excrete which served as protection from any danger and said he was still surprise how the police managed to arrest him.

Ohanuka was arrested in a hotel where he was having a good time with a lady friend.

When he was in the hotel, the police stormed the place on a tip off and arrested him and recovered a local made pistol sold to him N45,000 by his gang member.

He regretted that since he started robbery operation, he had not made good proceeds, rather the little money he realized was spent on drinks and women before his arrest.

CEOAFRICA source gathered that the police has since intensified efforts to arrest other members of the gang and to interrogate the market union leaders in connection with his confession.

The police source said he will soon be charged to court after the conclusion of Investigation.

CEOAFRICA source visited the joint to confirm what Ohanuka confessed before the Police, the finding showed the place was really a jungle where all manners of brisk business were carried out.

However, some of the traders who confirmed such joint said the market leaders knew about the place but were so afraid to do anything because of their safety.

It was also confirmed that some market leaders armed some of the suspects during the market crises and they turned round and became dangerous even to their “chairmen” as they popularly referred to their leaders.

Efforts to speak with market leaders proved abortive as non of them present, when our correspondence visited the market, were willing to speak as they claim their chairman was not around to speak on the matter.
