Nigeria Police uncover building with 105 bags of Cannabis in Ondo

Men of the Nigeria Police Force has uncovered a building that was filled with as many as 105 bags of cannabis in Ondo State.

According to a Sunday Punch report, the Ondo State Police Command on Friday arrested one person in connection with 105 bags of cannabis kept in a house located at the New Town Area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The suspect, identified as Virginia George, was said to be in charge of the cannabis, worth millions of naira.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, told Sunday Punch that the police were able to discover the building following a tip-off.

He said the cannabis had been evacuated from the building while the suspect had been handed over to the Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further action.

Joseph said, “The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, got the information about the building; so, he ordered our men to swing into action. That was how we were able to arrest the suspect. The illegal drugs were packed in 105 bags.

“We have commenced an investigation into the matter and handed over the suspect and the drugs to the NDLEA here.”
