Irabor to MNJTF troops-We are winning the fight against Terrorism, keep up the spirit

Major General Lucky Irabor, the Force Commander (FC) Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has urged troops of Sector 3 MNJTF (7 Brigade Baga) Nigeria to keep up the spirit  in the fight against terrorism believing that soon more platforms would be provided in the Theatre of operation.

He made the remark while addressing troops at the Headquarters Sector 3 Baga during his operational visit from Thursday 17-18 November 2017.

In a press release signed by Colonel Anka Mustapha, Military Information Officer and sent to CEOAFRICA, the Force Commander stated that other government agencies have been undertaking one project or the other, for stabilization in bid to re-assuring the people that both the states and the federal government are doing everything possible to ensure normalcy returned.

 

 General Irabor, use the medium to thank the Commander Sector 3 General Brigadier Oluyinka Soyele, officers and men for a job well done.

The MNJTF Boss on arrival to Maiduguri, stopover at the Headquarter 105 Composite Group of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) where he attended a briefing session before proceeding to the Headquarter Theatre Command (TC) Operation LAFIYA DOLE.

 

While at the Theatre Command, the Force Commander and entourage where received by the Theatre Commander Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, who welcome the FC and gave a brief on the activities of the Command.

 The MNJTF Boss thereafter paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno State, Honorable Kashim Shettima at the Governor’s office, Government House Maiduguri.

Governor Shettima welcomed the Force Commander to Maiduguri and appreciates the role of the MNJTF in bringing peace and security especially in Borno State. He also requested that, ‘’even after restoring peace, another colloquium or seminar of the recharging of the Lake Chad should be organized’’.

 

 The Force Commander in his remark thanked His Excellency for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage. He commensurate with the government and the good people of Borno State for the recent loss of lives following a suicide bomb attack.

General Irabor said that the purpose of his visit to Borno state, which according to him was ‘’on operational visit to Sector in Baga to interact with troops of the Sector’’.

 

The Force Commander also paid a visit to the United Nations (UN) Office in Maiduguri where he held a very fruitful discussion on humanitarian situation in the Lake Chad region.

 

 He applauded the UN agencies for their co-operation and collaboration.

During the two day visit, General Irabor and entourage attended a Free Medical Outreach organized by sector 3 at Cross Kauwa.

 While at the event, the Force Commander was welcome by the Bulama. General Irabor appreciates the Bulama and everyone for promising to expose any BHT intruder into the locality to the nearest security agency. He also promised that the Sector Commander will look into the issue of re-opening the market after due consultations.

 

General Irabor proceeded to the Naval Outpost in Baga, where he assured the troops that more platforms will be provided at ensuring dominance and to secure the entire Lake Chad.

 He used the forum to urge the troops to sustain the fight against terrorisms and insurgency while assuring them of necessary logistic support.

General Irabor was accompanied to the visit by some Chiefs of Cells from the Headquarter MNJTF which include; Cols Dagachene, Ndongo, Anka, Sarki, Lawali and the representatives of Africa Union (AU) Mission Support Team (AU MST).
