Somalia: Doctors, nurses celebrate after woman gives birth to five kids

A Somali woman has given birth to quintuplets at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital. The unidentified woman delivered on Monday, August 3.

The announcement was made on Twitter by the hospital, which noted that it is one of the rarest births in the world.

According to the health facility, the mother and her babies are healthy and are being monitored by doctors at the hospital.

The Turkish-run hospital in Mogadishu expressed gratitude to its health workers who made it possible for the woman to deliver safely.

“A mom gave birth to five babies (quintuplets) in our hospital, one of the rarest births in the world. The mom and her babies are healthy and now monitored by our doctors. Thanks to our health professionals who made this possible."

In other news, radio presenter Maina Kageni showed off a lavish home surrounded by lush green grass that belonged to a local tycoon.

The journalist said the wealthy barley and wheat farmer owned three helicopters that are always parked outside his palatial residence.

Maina said one of the helicopters belonged to the man of the house, the second to his wife and the third to his two kids.

The radio host asked his fans to work hard and assured them that a lot of people were living expensive lives in private.
