An improvised bomb planted on a motorbike has led to an explosion that killed six people in Pakistan’s restive southwestern Balochistan.

The revelation was made by a member of the Balochistan police force today where he said that a vehicle carrying personnel from the country’s anti-narcotic force was alleged to be the target of the blast in Chaman town, which borders Afghanistan.

Six passersby have been killed and wounded following the confirmation of the attack and casualties from the Local police official, Masood Khan.

Although Baluch separatists demanding greater autonomy have been waging an insurgency for years while the province is also driven by sectarian strife and Islamist violence, however, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

In his opinion, the Interior minister, Ejaz Shah said in a statement that such attacks are targeted at spreading fear among the people.
