Nigerians on twitter have reacted to Senator Smart Adeyemi comment during the senate sitting on Tuesday while contributing to a motion on “Safe School Initiative in Nigeria.”

The senator while speaking on a social media post that had cast an aspersion on Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello linked to Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who represents Abia South, referred Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State as a “drunkard.”

Adeyemi, in the sitting on Tuesday referred to Governor Ikpeazu as a “champagne drinking man”.

Some Nigerians who are displeased with the comment have lambasted the senator, saying that the speech has no relation with what is being discussed. Although, the senator has equally gotten some backings, with some saying that he has said the truth.

Dino Melaye, a former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, had also tweeted, saying "It is shocking that a diabolical father of a known drug addict who even went to a rehabilitation center will call the decent Governor of Abia State names. I apologise unbehalf of this blood thirsty senator."
