The Screening Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday concluded its screening exercise of chairmanship and councillorship aspirants for the party’s upcoming 2022 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections.
At the end of the exercise, Chief Ighoyota Amori, Chairman of the Screening Committee and former Senator representing Delta Central, disclosed to CEOAFRICA in a chat that 1 chairmanship and 3 councillorship aspirants were disqualified from the FCT area council election.
Senator Amori stated that “At the end of it all, 18 chairmanship aspirants were cleared while one was disqualified.
“69 councillorship aspirants were also cleared, but 3 persons were disqualified.”
The Chairman of the 5-Man Committee described the 2-day screening exercise as “peaceful.”
He noted that the exercise was conducted in an environment devoid of any rancor, which was due to the “experience” and “maturity” of members of the committee.
Recall that CEOAFRICA reported that the PDP’s National Working Committee appointed Mrs. Josephine Ejeh, Hon. Mahmoud Mohammed, Kalu Eni and Dr. Felix Woboso as members of the Screening Committee, with Chief (Sen.) Amori as the Chairman.
