The Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP) is holding its Annual National Conference on universal health coverage. The 27th Annual National Conference holds from June 4-8, 2024, at De Signature Tower Hotel, Onireke, Ibadan.
The theme is ‘The Role of Digital Technologies and Innovations in Achieving Universal Health Coverage: The Nigeria Industrial Pharmacy Perspective.’’
The facilitators are also considering Control Substances and the Promotion of Access to Medicine: The Meeting Point and The Pharmaceutical/Sales Representatives of Today: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly as sub-themes for the programme.
This year's conference will be hosted by Prof. Cyril O. Usifo, President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), and Pharm. Ken Onuegbu, National Chairman, Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria. The conference planning committee is headed by Pharm. Valentine J. Okelu.
Chief (Dr.) Theophilus A. Omotosho, Chairman and Founder of Bond Chemical Ltd., is the chairman for the opening ceremony. The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Oludele A. Itiola, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Ibadan.
Tagged Oluyole 2024, panel discussions will include leading pharmacists such as Pharm. Adewale Oladigbolu, National Chairman, Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria; Pharm. Ifeoluwa S. Adedeji, superintendent pharmacist, Dana Pharmaceuticals, Ibadan; Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, Executive Secretary, Kwara State Health Insurance Agency; Pharm. Omaruaye Ogheneochuko, CEO, New Heights Pharmaceutical Ltd.; and Pharm. Dr. Vern Ohaya, Executive Director, Trustee Drugs, Inc. Atlanta, Georgia. The lead panelist at the plenary discussion is Prof. Michael A. Odeniyi of the Department of Pharmaceutics & Industrial Pharmacy, University of Ibadan. Also billed to speak at the symposium is Pharm. Ifeanyi Emenne, CEO, Kanselor Business Innovation, and Kiyix Recruitment Hub.
speaking with CEOAFRICA, NAIP National Chairman, Pharm. Ken Onuegbu, promised attendees that the event will be an eye-opener for all stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry. He revealed that this year's event is targeted at using digital innovations to boost universal health from the industrial pharmacist's perspective. It will also be an interactive session where participants will drive engagement on pertinent pharmaceutical issues in the industry.
Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP) is the umbrella body of all registered and licenced Pharmacists in the Pharmaceutical Industry within Nigeria. NAIP is dedicated to the promotion of sound Pharmacy profession, up-to-date Pharmacy education, research and Pharmacy practices within the Industrial sector. NAIP is a technical arm of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
