Chrisland University tops OAU, UI, others, takes first place at Green Chemistry competition

Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State has shined yet again, taking first place in the inter-university competition on Green Chemistry held from 20th to 24th May 2024.

At the More Green Awards 2024, Chrisland University was awarded the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira, as the varsity management commended Dr. Eniola Anifalaje of the Department of Chemistry for preparing the students for the competition.

Founded in 2015, the varsity of "Intellectual Radiance" scored 77.5points, taking the lead ahead of Koladaisi University Ibadan with 75points, Federal University, Wukari with 73.5points, First Technical University, Ibadan with 72points.

While Kwara State University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta scored 67points each, the University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria and the University of Ilorin scored 66points and 64points respectively.

Other participants at the competition include, Bowen University, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano.

Endorsed by Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) and approved by Beyond Benign organisation, the More Green Awards is founded by a lecturer in the Chemical Sciences Department of TASUED, Dr. Oyesolape Basirat Akinsipo and co-founded by analytical and environmental chemist, Mrs. Anselm Oluwaseun.
