Over the years, the pharmaceutical industry seemed irrelevant and was not recognized by the average Nigerian, but in recent times, certain meritorious leaders in the industry have paid the sacrifices of pushing out for the world to see, the relevance of the industry, especially in contemporary times.

As Edith Wharton, said in her poem “Vesalius in Zante” published in 1909 that “there are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it,” the National Chairman of the Association of Industrial Pharmacists (NAIP), Pharm. Kenneth Onuegbu FPSN has risen to be a great leader who deserves celebration and recognition.

In a surprising turn of events, Pharm Onuegbu and his beautiful wife bagged chieftaincy title in Ibadan, Oyo State, at the recently concluded 27th NAIP Conference tagged “Oluyole 2024” held in the ancient city of Ibadan.

The Baale of Oluyole Ibadan, Chief Adeyemi Ogunyemi, conferred on Onuegbu the title “Aare Akogun of Oluyole Ibadan” and his wife as Yeye Aare Akogun of Oluyole Ibadan alongside three others; Pharm. IG Anukwu FPSN , Pharm Clement Adeboye, Pharm Victor, Ajanaku (Rtd Col) were all conferred Chiefs of Oluyole on Friday 7th June 2024.

Pharmacist Kenneth being the National Chairman, Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP), a technical arm of PSN in charge of leading all the Pharmacists in Nigeria in manufacturing, importation and major drug distribution value chain, Onuegbu’s pulled major stakeholders, dignitaries, personalities, chief executive officers etc. from inside and outside Nigeria to Ibadan, Oyo State for a world-class excellent conference focused on “Role of Digital Technologies and Innovations in Achieving Universal Health Coverage: The Nigeria Industrial Pharmacy Perspective”.

Reactions from the conference affirms the teamwork, class, style and brilliance pulled together to achieve success under Pharm Onuegbu’s administration as NAIP Chairman.

Onuegbu is one of the leading pharmacists in Nigeria, a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria; Merit Award Winner of Lagos State PSN and an alumnus of Lagos Business School. He hails from Amaigbo in Nwangele LGA of Imo State, studied Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he also bagged a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, with specialisation in Marketing. He attended the Advanced Management Programme of the Lagos Business School (LBS).

The pharmaceutical expert has worked with Afrab-Chem Limited, Roche Nigeria Ltd (Now SWIPHA), Emzor Pharmaceuticals, ChanMedi Pharm Ltd/GTE, Maydon Pharma and Dafra Pharma Limited. He was National Sales Manager at Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd between 2004 and 2006. Also Head of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service at Chan Medi-Pharm Ltd.

Pharm. Ken Onuegbu FPSN was the Founder of Tricare Pharma Nigeria Ltd and now the Co-founder/CEO of Xential Pharmaceuticals Nigeria Ltd Lagos

Pharm. Kenneth Onuegbu is now the Aare Akogun of Oluyole Ibadan ! All Hail !
