As the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) traverse the country in their on-going campaign for 2015 general elections, stakeholders from Delta state chapter of the party on Tuesday stormed the party's national secretariat calling for cancellation of the party's primaries in Delta state.

The state chapter of the party under the aegis of Concerned Anioma Patriotic Forum made the call in a protest march at the party's national secretariat in Abuja.

Addressing journalists at the party headquarters, the Forum spokesperson, Patrick Okoh, said: "There is need to cancel the results of the primaries that produced the gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives and the state House of Assembly candidates."

Okoh added: "The 2014 PDP primaries for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, senatorial and gubernatorial were done with insensitive, lack of popular delegate vote, widespread manipulation and favouritism, which has caused disaffection amongst party faithful who are in disguise threatening the chances of the party in all the elective positions."

The group, in a petition to the party National Secretary, National Organising Secretary, all electoral committee members and PDP Delta state, said that the advice to cancel the primaries became imperative in view of alleged crisis associated with some candidates.
