President Koroma Commissioned Modern Shopping Plaza and Transport Terminal in Sierra Leone

From Makeni in Sierra Leone, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that an ultra-modern Shopping Plaza and Transport Terminal has been opened for the use of the populace.

The project which was part of the development and investment activities of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), was implemented in all three provincial capitals of Bo, Kenema and Makeni.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, President Koroma expressed profound delight in the project, which is consistent with the Agenda for Prosperity, calling on all to take advantage of the opportunities in transforming the country. He recalled his long association with NASSIT as a chairman of its established committee twenty years ago, pledging that his government will continue to transform cities for the benefit of the people and country.

“We will do the things that will make these place look like cities. The government has delivered on all the promises it made by ensuring that service deliveries are taken to the door steps of the people’” he said.

Furthermore, President Koroma said government has done a lot to improve the living standards of the people by increasing subventions to universities, paying the fees for pupils writing West African Senior Secondary Schools Examination. He also said scholarships have been offered to female students offering science courses in all tertiary institutions.

Mr. Koroma said,”We are going to do more roads and will continue to improve on the living standards of Sierra Leoneans, especially in the rural areas.”

Part of proposed infrastructures aimed at developing Sierra Leone include construction of a new airport at Mamamah, a seaport in Pujehun district, and a railway to kick off soon.
