Aggrieved Nigerians have taken to the streets in Ibadan, Oyo state, to protest hardship in the country.

The protest, scheduled by some groups to take place on Independence Day, October 1, kicked off in Ikeja, Lagos.

Despite right security in Ibadan, a few protesters came out to take part in the demonstration.

"End bad governance now," one of the placards held by a protester reads.
