24 graduate with First Class as Chrisland University confers degrees on 183 graduates

Twenty-four students of Chrisland University have graduated with First Class degrees during the university's 2023/2024 Convocation held on October 29.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, disclosed this while delivering her convocation address at the 6th convocation ceremony. 
She announced that 24 graduates received First Class degrees, 95 earned Second Class Upper Division, 47 attained Second Class Lower Division, and 17 achieved Third Class.
The graduates are from various departments within the College of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (CAMASS), College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), College of Basic Medical Sciences (COBAMS), and the Faculty of Nursing Sciences.
According to Professor Babalola, "The best-graduating student, Miss Omodehin Adeola graduated with a CGPA of 4.99 out of 5 from the Department of Psychology, making her the valedictorian."
"At Chrisland University, we place a premium on good character as part of a quality education because education devoid of character is a menace to society. Therefore, today we will award prizes to the best-behaved graduates, namely Mr. Chineyemba Emmanuel Oluwasemilore from the Department of Mass Communication as the best-behaved male, and Miss Elegbede Hannah Oluwatimileyin from the Department of Mathematics as the best-behaved female, thus promoting our focus on character and learning."
Congratulating the graduates, Professor Babalola said, "Your accomplishments are well-deserved. We are immensely proud of who you have become and what you’ve achieved."
"Remember, this journey you’re on is just beginning. Approach it with an open mind, a curious spirit, and a steadfast commitment to these principles. As you step forward, we look forward to seeing you redefine possibilities and leave a legacy of innovation and integrity."
"Today, you stand at the threshold of a future brimming with possibilities, ready to shape the world with the talents and knowledge you've honed at Chrisland University. As you move forward, I charge each of you to embrace the mindset of an overcomer and a winner. Life’s journey will undoubtedly present challenges, but how you respond to these moments will define your path."
"As graduates of Chrisland University, you have been equipped with not just a bachelor's degree but also a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Leadership. The world beyond is fast-paced and highly competitive, and you must continually acquire new knowledge and skills to excel," she added.
Be Ambassadors of Integrity and Excellence: Your education here has been more than the pursuit of academic knowledge; it has also been an education in character, values, and integrity. Let these values guide every step you take. As you go forth, remember that the world looks to you for leadership, honesty, and purpose. Let integrity be the cornerstone of all you do, and strive to set standards of excellence that others will aspire to follow.
Reflecting on her tenure as Vice Chancellor, Professor Babalola said, "My tenure has been a remarkable journey, one filled with challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable experiences. Most importantly, it has been an interesting and rewarding journey, a journey of discovery and re-discovery."
"Today marks a significant moment for us all as we gather to celebrate and reflect upon the journey that Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has embarked upon over the past seven years. Standing here as Vice Chancellor, I am overwhelmed with gratitude, humility, and pride as I recount the progress we have made together since 2017. This occasion not only celebrates our collective accomplishments but also symbolizes a new beginning for the university."
