The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and the Executive Secretary , Pharmacist Chisom Uchem, for achieving remarkable success at the 2nd Edition of National Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge on Thursday December 12, 2024 in Abuja. The agency has been recognized as the “Best in the Southeast zone” and has also emerged as the “Overall best in the country”.
In a distinguished ceremony, Anambra State was awarded a total prize of $1.2 million, comprising $500,000 for being the best in the Southeast and an additional $700,000 for clinching the title of the nation’s best. This recognition highlights the state's outstanding commitment to advancing primary healthcare and improving health outcomes for its residents.
The event, which was organized by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, in collaboration with esteemed partners such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation, Federal Ministry of Health, and UNICEF, aims to strengthen the commitment of state governors towards human capital development and primary health care.
Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, along with the National Executive Committee and the entire pharmacy community, commended Pharm. Chisom for her exceptional leadership and dedication to excellence. In a statement by the Publicuty Secretary of PSN Pharm. Lizette Ezenekwe stated that PSN President Pharm. Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the agency's innovative strategies and dedication to delivering high-quality primary healthcare services, which have ultimately earned the state this well-deserved recognition.
