The All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Bagudu, has called on the party supporters in the state to jealously guard and protect their votes during next month’s general election without any fear.

Senator Bagudu made this call while campaigning in Argungu, Kangiwa, Bagudu and Suru local government areas. The campaigns in the four local government areas were attended by the candidates vying for elective positions on the platform of the APC.

The governorship candidate told the audience that, after casting their votes for the APC, they should ensure that their votes are counted and announced before they leave their polling units.

“Don’t be intimidated by the presence of security men who may be posted to the venue; don’t have any fear because you are doing the right thing by protecting your votes against rigging,” he said.

Bagudu, however, cautioned supporters against violence, adding that they should maintain law and order during elections. He also urged those who have not collected their permanent voter cards (PVCs) to do so, as the card remains the only weapon for them to effect change both in Kebbi and Nigeria.

“If voted into power, the APC government would ensure a better Nigeria at the top with security as top on the agenda,” he added.

Bagudu promised to work towards the improvement of agriculture, especially rice production, by providing farming inputs. He has also promised to provide quality education, improved health care, provide employment opportunities for the youth and to work towards religious tolerance in the state.

Notable speakers at the rallies include Senator Adamu Aliero, the APC Kebbi Central senotorial candidate Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi and the APC Kebbi North senatorial candidate
