
Portable, the controversial singer, has revealed why his Instagram name is ‘Elizabeth Joyce’.
In a video circulating on social media, Portable is seen chatting with content creator Egungun of Lagos during a car ride.
In the footage, Egungun asked Portable about the name ‘Elizabeth Joyce’, which appears on the singer’s Instagram profile.
Responding, Portable revealed that he created the account while attempting to learn internet fraud, popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo.
The singer added that he halted his dream of becoming a ‘Yahoo boy’ after he became famous.
“To be honest with you, I created a Facebook and Instagram account when I wanted to learn internet fraud (Yahoo),” Portable said.
“It didn’t work out, but that was why I initially opened the account.
“Later, when I heard that people were looking for me because I had become successful, I went back to edit the account. I removed the foreigner’s picture I had used. Na working account.”
Portable gained fame in December 2021 with his hit single ‘Zazoo Zeh,’ featuring Olamide and Poco Lee. Since then, he has remained in the public eye for controversial reasons.
Earlier this year, the singer was embroiled in a controversy with Ogun state officials, which led to his arrest and arraignment on a five-count charge, including assault.
Portable had allegedly led a gang in a violent attack on Ogun officials who attempted to seal his bar due to a lack of approved permits.
The singer was declared wanted on February 18 but turned himself in the next day. He was later granted a N2 million bail and his case was adjourned until March 5.
