In commemoration of International Women's Day, Thomas Adewumi University of Science, Technology and Medicine, in collaboration with Thomas Adewumi Women (TA-WE), is excited to announce an upcoming event titled “Accelerating Action: Women Breaking the Glass Ceiling in Leadership and Academia”. This impactful gathering will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 2pm via a virtual platform.

Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, a renowned pharmacist and esteemed member of the Board of Regents at TAU, will serve as the keynote speaker. With her impressive background in pharmacy and commitment to promoting gender equality, Prof. Babalola will bring invaluable insights into the challenges and triumphs experienced by women in academia and leadership roles.

The event aims to provide a platform for open discussions about the barriers women face and the strategies needed to overcome them. Participants will engage in meaningful dialogues on fostering inclusive environments that recognize and celebrate the contributions of women in leadership and academia.

In addition to Prof. Babalola’s keynote address, the event will feature a panel discussion with prominent figures from various sectors, offering a wide range of perspectives on gender equality. Options for health and wellness sessions will also be included, ensuring participants can address both professional and personal well-being.

TA-WE is dedicated to inspiring current and future generations of women leaders, and this event is a vital part of that mission. Participants are encouraged to join in celebrating women’s achievements and aspirations as TAU reaffirms its commitment to advancing gender equity across all fields.
