
Bill to strip VP, governors of immunity passes second reading

A bill seeking to strip Nigerian vice president, governors and deputy governors of immunity has just passed second reading at the House of Representatives in Abuja.Nigerian online marketplaces
The constitutional amendment bill scaled through second reading during plenary on Wednesday.
The bill is being sponsored by Solomon Bob, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker from Rivers State.
The bill seeks to promote accountability in public office by removing the immunity currently enjoyed by the Vice President, governors, and their deputies.
