The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has pledged not to disappoint President Bola Tinubu in the discharge of his duties as the FCT Minister.
He stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja in response to Tinubu’s remark.
Speaking at the State House when Wike led a delegation of prominent FCT residents on a traditional Sallah homage to mark end of Ramadan fasting and Eid-el-Fitr holiday, Tinubu had described the Minister as “Mr Infrastructure.”
The president had listed some of the various initiatives and projects executed by Wike.
He noted that these projects have translated to better lives for FCT residents, for which he remains grateful to Wike.
Tinubu had said: “I could see the diversity of men and women here, I must thank the Honorable Minister of FCT. It’s worth it. It is nothing other than a privilege to be the landlord of every one of us in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.”
In his reaction, Wike expressed happiness for the encouragement from the president.
According to Wike: “I feel very happy that my boss has confidence in me. If your boss, in the public, says that you are doing that of course, its an encouragement for you to continue doing the job that you’ve been assigned.
“For us, we’re happy to be identified in this administration and we’ll continue to do what Abuja people will be happy with. So I’m happy each time Mr. President talks about us and tries to say the little we have done, that means that he’s watching and we will not disappoint him.”
