FCAH&PT to Host 61st Anniversary Founder's Day & Convocation

The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT) in Ibadan is set to host its 61st Anniversary Founder's Day and Convocation from April 2 to April 5, 2025. This significant celebration bears the theme, "Bridging Past & Future: Advancing Animal Production and Health through Science, Technology, and Policy in Nigeria."

The four-day event will feature an array of activities aimed at honoring the college’s rich heritage while looking forward to future advancements in animal health and production. The guest of honor for the occasion will be Prof. Garba Hamidu Sharubutu, the Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria.

Additional notable guests include the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Samuel Soladoye Abiola, an Erudite Scholar and Professor of Animal Science; Dr. Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, the Provost of FCAH&PT and the event host; Dr. Omolara Jemimah Ojezele, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee; and Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, Group Managing Director of Amo Farms.

Wednesday, April 2: Road Show/Awareness Campaign; Students' Carnival.

Thursday, April 3: Founder's Day Anniversary; Pre-Convocation Lecture; Conferment of Awards; Unveiling of College Compendium; Fundraising Activities; Inter-Union Sports Competition Awards; Exhibition; Project Commissioning.

Friday, April 4: Convocation Ceremony; Conferment of Diplomas; Awards & Prizes.

Saturday, April 5: Alumni Day

All events will be held at Dr. K.J. Nwufoh Hall in Moor Plantation, Ibadan, bringing together students, alumni, academic staff, and industry experts.

Dr. Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, the College Provost, expressed his enthusiasm for the occasion, stating, "This event will not only commemorates our rich history but also sets the stage for future developments in animal health and production. We aim to foster innovation and collaboration that will leave a lasting impact on the industry and the nation."
