With 104 days remaining until "IFEADIGO 2025", the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), set for July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, Anambra State, we take a moment to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of this remarkable region.

Did you know that the legendary author Chinua Achebe, renowned for his globally acclaimed novel Things Fall Apart, was born in Ogidi, Anambra State? Born on November 16, 1930, Achebe is celebrated as a pioneer of African literature in English. His groundbreaking works not only brought African narratives to the forefront but also profoundly influenced writers and readers around the world. Things Fall Apart, which depicts the complexities of Igbo culture and the impact of colonialism, remains a cornerstone of literary study and continues to resonate with audiences globally.

Achebe's literary contributions have played a significant role in shaping the perception of African history, culture, and identity, making Anambra State a focal point for cultural and intellectual discourse.

As we prepare for "IFEADIGO 2025", themed "Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice," it is essential to recognize the intersection of literature, culture, and healthcare. The conference aims to promote innovative solutions that enhance patient care while celebrating the legacies of influential figures like Achebe, whose work highlights the importance of storytelling and communication in all professions, including pharmacy.

Anambra is often hailed as the "Light of the Nation," a fitting description for a state rich in heritage, achievement, and potential. The term IFEADIGO means "light has come," symbolizing the arrival of new ideas, advancements, and a commitment to progress in various sectors, including healthcare.

As we count down to this significant event, let us honor the literary giants of Anambra, like Chinua Achebe, who have paved the way for future generations to shine brightly in their respective fields.
