In a move aimed at empowering the youth in the fight against malaria, the National Association of University Students (NAUS), the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), and the National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education (NANCES) are set to host a significant Joint Press Conference. Scheduled for Sunday, June 1, 2025, by 11:00am at the Stratton Hotel located on Bola Ige Close, Muhammadu Ribadu Street, off Shehu Way, Asokoro, Abuja, the conference will serve as a platform to unveil the Geneith Health Competition targeted at Secondary School (JSS & SSS) students and those in tertiary institutions.

This event is particularly noteworthy as it builds upon the recent launch of the Geneith Health Competition, which seeks to harness the creativity and energy of Nigeria's youth in addressing one of the country's most pressing public health challenges—malaria. Attendees can expect to hear from impactful leaders in the field, including Umenwa Emmanuel E., MD/CEO of Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd, who will be the Special Guest of Honor. He is joined by Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, MD and Team Lead of CEOAFRICA, serving as the Guest of Honor.

The conference will also feature notable student leaders such as Comr. Egunjobi Samuel Oluwaseun, the National President of NANCES, who will act as the Chief Host. Comr. Josiah Peter Oche, the National President of NAUS, and Comr. Oyewumi Festus Ayomide, President of the Senate of NAPS, will further contribute as hosts to the event. This collaboration among prominent student organizations underscores the collective effort to engage young Nigerians in meaningful health advocacy.

A key focus of the press conference will be to elaborate on the goals and structure of the Geneith Health Competition, which promises to stimulate not only academic engagement but also innovative approaches to malaria prevention. By encouraging students to participate, the competition aims to create a ripple effect of awareness and action throughout the communities.

Moreover, the Geneith Health Competition is organized by CEOAFRICA, sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and powered by Coatal Forte Softgel. The competition features an impressive prize pool, signaling a commitment to incentivizing students to take health advocacy seriously.

The Joint Press Conference will be live-streamed across all CEOAFRICA social media platforms, allowing a broader audience to engage with the initiatives being introduced and follow the journey of these young health advocates.

This upcoming event marks a significant step forward in mobilizing the youth of Nigeria to take active roles in public health matters, particularly as the country navigates the ongoing challenges posed by malaria. By facilitating discussions, raising awareness, and forging partnerships, the Joint Press Conference promises to lay a solid foundation for the impactful work of the Geneith Health Competition.
