Minister of Works David Umahi has lauded President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a transformative impact on the Southeast region and the country at large.
Speaking during the 2025 Sallah celebration with the Ebonyi Muslim community in Abakaliki, Umahi credited Tinubu with reversing years of federal neglect and promoting national integration.
“Before now, many Southeast states had no federal projects. But today, the federal presence is visible across the region. That is true national integration,” Umahi stated.
He also praised the Tinubu administration for fostering what he called an “unprecedented” level of religious harmony and inclusiveness. Citing the President’s attendance at the Pope’s inauguration, Umahi said it was a historic and unique gesture that reflected Tinubu’s genuine respect for all faiths.
“The relationship between faiths in Nigeria is much better now. It surprised many Christians when the President led a Nigerian delegation to the Pope’s inauguration,” he said. “We all serve one God in different ways. Both Muslims and Christians preach love and the fear of God.”
