The Geneith Health Competition (GHC), an innovative initiative aimed at fostering youth involvement in health advocacy and combating malaria, is now open for registration. However, it's important for prospective participants to note the eligibility criteria: only students from Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), Senior Secondary Schools (SSS), and tertiary institutions are welcome to join. Unfortunately, postgraduate students and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members are not eligible to participate.
Organized by CEOAFRICA, fully Sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and Powered by Coatal Forte Softgel, the competition is set to engage young minds across Nigeria in a series of activities tailored to promote awareness about malaria—a disease that continues to be a significant public health challenge in the country.
Participants will embark on a transformative journey that includes a nationwide health walk across all 36 states, designed to unite students in the fight against this devastating disease while promoting malaria prevention and advocacy. This collaborative effort encourages participants to take an active role in health awareness, fostering a sense of responsibility among the youth.
Additionally, students selected from among the 774 local government areas in Nigeria will have the chance to attend training workshops. These workshops will focus on malaria awareness and prevention strategies, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for effectively advocating for health improvements in their communities.
The competition will feature three categories—Junior Secondary School (JSS), Senior Secondary School (SSS), and Tertiary Institutions—with an impressive total prize pool exceeding ₦1 billion. This presents a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and leadership abilities while contributing to essential health issues in Nigeria.
Students interested in participating in this groundbreaking initiative are encouraged to register early and take part in this movement toward healthier communities.
