As we reach the 15-day mark in our countdown to the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) National Conference tagged "IFEADIGO 2025," we are pleased to recognize Igwe (Pharm) Alex Uzo Onyido, the esteemed Royal Father of the Day for this significant event. The conference will take place from July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, under the theme: “Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacists’ Practice in Nigeria.”

Igwe Onyido is a notable figure in the pharmaceutical industry, having founded Pal Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd in Kano and Alben Healthcare Industry Ltd in Ogidi. His commitment to local employment creation is evident as he has provided jobs for over 3,000 individuals since establishing these enterprises. In September 2016, after an 18-year interregnum, he was elected as the Igwe of Ogidi, taking on the traditional title of Ezechuamagha I.

His contributions to the field have not gone unnoticed; he has received numerous awards from esteemed organizations including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, the Rotary Club, and PSN Kano-Jigawa. Recently, Igwe Onyido was honored with an Honorary Doctorate in Pharmacy (D.Sc.) from Tansian University, reflecting his dedication not only to the pharmaceutical sector but also to community service and leadership.

As we prepare to honor Igwe Onyido at IFEADIGO 2025, we anticipate his insights will resonate with participants, particularly on topics related to advancing community health and the vital role of local pharmacists.

Stay engaged as we continue our countdown to "IFEADIGO 2025," celebrating distinguished individuals who contribute to the advancement of pharmacy practice in Nigeria! More exciting updates are on the way!
