Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and allied political groups to stay committed to their collective vision of unity, progress, and development.
He appealed to them not to abandon the party due to internal challenges.
Speaking at the end of the PDP South West Zonal Caucus meeting held in Ibadan on Friday, Governor Makinde compared the situation to abandoning a house simply because of a leaking roof.
He stressed the need for members to work collectively to address issues rather than leaving the party due to temporary setbacks.
“You can’t abandon your house because of a leaking roof,” Governor Makinde declared.
“The PDP is built on solid foundations, and like any structure, it may experience wear and tear.
“It is our responsibility as party members to fix the leaks, reinforce the foundation, and ensure the house remains standing for the people of this country.”
He also acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of party leaders and members, reaffirming his commitment to collaborate with key stakeholders to secure the PDP’s success in future elections.
“Let us fix the roof together and keep this house strong for the future,” he concluded.
