Ezeh Ambrose Igwekamma, alongside his executive members, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty Obi (Dr.) Gibson Nwosu, the Ezeuzu II of Awka Ancient Kingdom, at his palace on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. This visit was timely, as it precedes the ACPN 44th Annual National Scientific Conference, which is set to be held in Awka from July 22 to 27, 2025.
During the visit, Pharm. Ezeh expressed gratitude for the support of the traditional leadership in the region and emphasized the significance of the conference for community pharmacy practice. “We appreciate the warm welcome and support from your Royal Highness. This conference represents a pivotal moment for our community pharmacy sector, and your endorsement is invaluable as we work towards improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria,” Ezeh stated.
HRM Obi (Dr.) Gibson Nwosu welcomed the ACPN delegation, highlighting the crucial role of community pharmacists in the health system. “As custodians of our culture and community health, we value the contributions of the ACPN and its members. The upcoming conference will not only enhance professional practice but also promote collaborative efforts toward achieving better health outcomes for all,” the king remarked.
The discussion also centered on the importance of engaging local communities in health initiatives, with both leaders agreeing on the need for collective action to address health challenges in the region. Ezeh reiterated the ACPN’s commitment to improving access to pharmaceutical services, particularly in underserved areas.
As the ACPN prepares for its annual conference, this courtesy visit underscores the significance of aligning traditional leadership with modern healthcare practices to foster a healthier future for Nigeria. The partnership between community pharmacists and traditional rulers is expected to create a robust framework for addressing health issues and promoting healthy living within communities.
The ACPN delegation left the meeting with a renewed sense of purpose, optimistic about the positive outcomes of the upcoming conference and the continued collaboration with traditional leaders in enhancing healthcare access across Nigeria.
