
Pharm. Elechi Oyim, FPSN, the National Chairman of the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN), highlighted the importance of unity among pharmacists in elevating the practice of pharmacy in Nigeria.
He conveyed this message in his goodwill address at the opening ceremony of the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), tagged "IFEADIGO 2025," held on July 23, 2025, at the International Convention Center (ICC) in Awka.
In his heartfelt address, Oyim expressed immense joy and solidarity with ACPN during this significant event. He reflected on the conference's theme, "Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice," emphasizing its timeliness and relevance in the current healthcare landscape.
"In this era of rapid technological innovation and patient-centered care, pharmacists must be positioned at the forefront — leveraging digital tools and personalized approaches to deliver quality services that improve patient outcomes and strengthen public health," he stated.
Oyim highlighted the opportunity presented by the conference for community pharmacists to foster innovation and collaboration. "Technology must not isolate us; it should unite us," he remarked, underscoring the importance of creating interprofessional networks that enhance personalized care beyond individual patients.
He passionately called for deeper synergy between hospital, administrative, and community pharmacy practices, stating that the profession cannot thrive in isolation. "Now more than ever, ACPN and AHAPN must work as one formidable force, bound by a shared vision to elevate Pharmacy practice in Nigeria to global standards," he asserted.
