The Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN) is gearing up for its highly anticipated 26th Annual National Scientific Conference, tagged 'EDO 2025,' set to take place from August 4-9, 2025, at the SIO Event Center, located at 8, Red Cross Crescent off Ikpokpan Road, Sapele Road, Benin City, Edo State. With just 6 days to go, excitement is building around the year's theme: "Innovations in Pharmaceutical Care Delivery for Equitable Patients' Healthcare."

This year’s conference promises to be a significant event for healthcare professionals as they come together to discuss and explore innovative strategies to enhance pharmaceutical care delivery in Nigeria. The theme emphasizes the importance of equitable healthcare for all patients, highlighting the vital role of pharmacists in ensuring improved health outcomes.

One of the key focus of this year’s conference is giving a spotlight on a distinguished philanthropist, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, who will be honored for his remarkable contributions to education and healthcare in Nigeria. Born in September 1934 in Okada, Edo State, Chief Igbinedion has built a vast business empire that spans various sectors, including oil and gas, real estate, banking, and agriculture.

Chief Igbinedion is renowned for founding Nigeria’s first indigenous motor assembly plant, Mid-Motors, in 1968, and Okada Air, which was among the country’s largest private airlines. He made history by establishing Igbinedion University, Nigeria’s first private university, in 1999, and serves as its Chancellor. His philanthropic efforts have led to the development of numerous schools, churches, and hospitals in Edo State, earning him a revered status as a philanthropist par excellence.

His commitment to social welfare through scholarships and healthcare support has significantly impacted the lives of many Nigerians. Chief Igbinedion’s estimated net worth of around $250 million reflects his profound influence on Nigeria's socio-economic landscape, particularly in Edo State.

As the AHAPN prepares for this momentous occasion, attendees are encouraged to engage with leading experts and trailblazers in the pharmaceutical field, fostering collaborations aimed at advancing patient care in Nigeria.

With only 6 days to go, the countdown to EDO 2025 is on, and the pharmaceutical community looks forward to fruitful discussions, networking opportunities, and the chance to celebrate the exemplary work of Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion. Don’t miss out on this invaluable experience!
