
Dr. Obikoya Oladele Ayodeji, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee shared his thoughts on the challenges and responsibilities faced by healthcare professionals in Nigeria, he emphasized the vital role of innovations in enhancing pharmaceutical care delivery for all patients.
He conveyed this in his welcome address at the just concluded 2025 Conference of the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN) held on August 5, in the vibrant city of Benin.
In his address, Dr. Ayodeji expressed immense gratitude to the AHAPN Executive for entrusting the Planning Committee with the organization of such a significant event. “Your trust in our team has been both inspiring and humbling,” he stated, underlining the commitment of the CPC to ensure the conference is a success.
The theme for this year’s conference, "Innovations in Pharmaceutical Care Delivery for Equitable Patient’s Healthcare," was a focal point of Dr. Ayodeji’s remarks. He highlighted the pressing need for equitable healthcare delivery, particularly in light of the challenges faced in accessing quality care across socio-economic divides in Nigeria.
“This conference serves as a platform to explore innovations that have the potential to revolutionize our healthcare delivery, ensuring that all patients, irrespective of their socio-economic status, receive the care they deserve,” he emphasized.
Dr. Ayodeji acknowledged the numerous challenges encountered during the organizational process, particularly against the backdrop of an unstable economic climate. He noted, “In a time when rising costs and logistical hurdles are common, we have remained steadfast in our resolve to provide a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and professional growth.” His recognition of these challenges showcased the resilience and determination of the AHAPN Executive, partners, and the conference planning team.
