Nigerian Company produced Oil Palm Growing Fertilizer

Report reaching the news desk of CEOAFRICA indicates that an indigenous Fertilizer Producer Company in Nigeria, Crystalizer Nigeria Limited, has produced Kieserite Fertilizer with chemical content of 27.22 per cent mgo/47 per cent SiO2 to assist farmers in Oil Palm growing areas of the country to achieve optimum yield.

While addressing the newsmen at the weekend, Brig. Gen. Dantsoho Mohammed (Rtd), the Chairman/ Managing Director of the firm said the brand is produced from organic material of magnesium, calcium, silica and nitrogen and has undergone many years of intensive research by the Institute of Agriculture Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.  

The institute, he said, tested the product on all crops with emphasis on all tree crops and has been vastly used by farmers in oil palm growing areas of the country. The component of the product are locally resourced and can last up to 100 years or more to the benefit of tree crops producers in the country. He called on the Nigerian Government to give the product a trial to find out its effectiveness.

Furthermore, he said the benefit of the Kieserite fertilizer on tree crops as include increase yield up to 300 percent and more compared to other NPK type, application is only once from planting to harvest and it eradicates striga weeds. Also, it provides added source of silicon for tree crops production which is an important nutrient, among others.

This product as one of the made in Nigeria goods has been made affordable to farmers in order to encourage them to patronize it. Brig. Dantsoho said the product would save the government a lot of money being expended on importation of similar products from abroad since the component is enough to satisfy tree crops producers and even export to other nations.
