
Goods damaged as fire wiped out shops in popular Alaba International market, Lagos

Millions of Naira worth of goods, have been destroyed after a massive fire outbroke at the Alaba International Market in Lagos on Tuesday night, October 21.
It is not yet certain what led to the fire outbreak. Videos shared online showed thick smoke billowing from the market as distraught traders watched helplessly while their goods were being destroyed by the fire.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service personnel were alerted and the officials worked tirelessly to put out the fire.
The Alaba International market is located along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, it is also known as one of Nigeria’s largest hubs for electronics and building materials.
