Every November 13 is a celebration of excellence, leadership, and service personified — embodied in Dr. Maureen Ngozi Nwafor, SCPAN, the National Chairman of the Clinical Pharmacists Association of Nigeria (CPAN) and a distinguished consultant clinical pharmacist whose impact continues to redefine pharmacy practice in Nigeria.

In a heartfelt congratulatory message, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CEOAFRICA, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, described Dr. Nwafor as “a woman of vision, integrity, and exceptional commitment to clinical excellence, whose leadership has elevated the voice and visibility of clinical pharmacists across the nation.”

Prince Ilobanafor extolled her unwavering dedication to advancing healthcare delivery through innovation and mentorship, noting that her strides in critical care pharmacy—where she oversees the General Intensive Care Unit, Cardiothoracic ICU Pharmacy, Cath Lab, and Anticoagulation Therapy Management—remain a testament to her expertise and passion for saving lives.

He further commended her remarkable leadership style since assuming office as CPAN National Chairman, describing her as “a leader who embodies both dexterity and inclusivity, charting a new course of unique positioning for clinical pharmacists in Nigeria.”

Indeed, Dr. Nwafor’s exceptional contributions to the profession transcend her role at CPAN. A Fellow and Preceptor of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP), she is a renowned critical care pharmacist with international certifications across the globe. Her passion for nurturing the next generation of pharmacists is reflected in her active mentorship roles — she lectures student pharmacists at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) and serves as Head of Preceptors at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) for UNN students.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Nwafor also serves as Special Adviser at the Total Health Forum, demonstrating her commitment to advancing healthcare policy and community well-being.

Her leadership journey has seen her make indelible marks across several professional bodies — including the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN), the Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALPS), and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) — where her vision, resilience, and consistency have left positive footprints.

Under her leadership, CPAN continues to witness renewed vibrancy, deeper collaborations, and stronger advocacy for patient-centered pharmaceutical care.

Prince Ilobanafor added: “If leadership had a formula, it would have been modeled after Dr. Nwafor. If compassion had an empire, she would rule a province. If excellence had a face, then in her we have found the very image of excellence.”

On behalf of the entire CEOAFRICA team, Prince Ilobanafor wished Dr. Maureen Ngozi Nwafor a joyful birthday filled with grace, fulfillment, and greater accomplishments. “We celebrate a clinical Amazon whose life and service continue to inspire a generation of healthcare professionals to lead with purpose, compassion, and courage,” he concluded.
