Dominican University, Ibadan, is set to host its 2nd Inaugural Lecture on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the DU Multipurpose Auditorium, Samonda Campus, beginning at 4:00p.m.
The lecture, titled “Multi-dimensionality of Cybersemiotics and the Future of Knowledge,” will be delivered by Rev. Fr. Prof. Joseph Thomas Ekong, OP, a distinguished scholar and Professor of Epistemology and Philosophy of Science in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences.
According to the Vice Chancellor of Dominican University, Prof. Jacinta A. Opara, the upcoming lecture reflects the University’s growing commitment to scholarship that bridges technology, communication, and human understanding in an evolving world.
“At Dominican University, we continue to foster conversations that challenge traditional boundaries of knowledge. This second inaugural lecture is a celebration of academic depth and innovation, and we are delighted to host Rev. Fr. Prof. Ekong as he explores the interface between cybersemiotics and the future of learning,” Prof. Opara said.
The lecture is expected to gather members of the University community, academics, students, researchers, and distinguished guests from across Nigeria and beyond.
