The General Manager of the Borno State Community and Social Development Programme, Hon. Chiroma Usman, has joined the growing list of prominent Nigerians mourning the passing of revered community patriarch, Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor, who died on June 22, 2025, at the age of 93.

In a solemn message, Hon. Usman paid glowing tribute to the late elder statesman, describing him as a “shining star” whose exemplary life should serve as a moral compass for meaningful public service.

According to him, Ogbuefi Ilobanafor embodied the kind of values Nigeria desperately needs in leadership: simplicity, excellence, humility, honesty, courage, and unwavering commitment to national unity.

He stated that the deceased stood out as a frontline figure whose loyalty to the progress and development of Nigeria remained unquestionable.

“No doubt, Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor—an epitome of simplicity and excellence has bequeathed a legacy of humility, honesty, and courage in the face of daunting odds,” Hon. Usman said.

He emphasized that the life and character of the late patriarch should serve as a constant reminder to political leaders striving to work for the good of their communities and the country at large.

Extending his heartfelt sympathies to the Ilobanafor family, Hon. Usman acknowledged the enormity of their loss but urged them to take solace in the enduring impact of the patriarch’s life.
