Dr. Teresa Isichei Pounds, Founder and President of the West African Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (WASPEN), has sent warm New Year wishes to healthcare professionals, nutritionists, and the wider community across West Africa.
In her message, Dr. Pounds said, “As we welcome 2026, I wish everyone a year marked by health, innovation, and purposeful service. The New Year is an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to improving patient care, advancing nutritional science, and fostering collaboration across borders in our region.”
She further encouraged healthcare practitioners to continue applying best practices in clinical nutrition. “Let us focus on delivering safe, evidence-based nutritional care, supporting patients and communities, and sharing knowledge to build stronger health systems. Every small effort contributes to better outcomes and healthier communities.”
