According to news from the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Sagir Musa, the Boko Haram gunmen that invaded two villages in Maiduguri two days ago, were tracked to their camps and 50 of them were killed yesterday, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

Troops, as disclosed to sources by another leader of the Army, Lt-Col Musa, pursued the terrorists to their camps and destroyed them with air support. The operation began on Wednesday after gunmen attacked Gajiram during their market day and killed 15 people, before moving to Bulabilin Ngaura where five more villagers were killed.

Narrating the ordeal, an eye witness of the market attack said,”Many traders and pupils in the school, including a few council workers at the secretariat complex, took to their heels for safety... We were shocked and terrified."

Also, another Bulabilin Ngaura resident said, "They invaded the village from nowhere. They just opened fire… they killed only five people going to mosque for prayers."

Up till the time this report was gathered, Boko Haram has not commented on the camp raids or town attacks.
