Popular socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has admitted that his decision not to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a mistake, saying he has now adopted a new political approach focused on working with the federal government.

Speaking at a political gathering in Imo State, the entrepreneur said the event followed weeks of planning and reflected what he described as growing unity and support for the current administration.

According to him, years of political opposition had failed to produce meaningful results, prompting a change in strategy.

“We have decided to partner with the government at the center. We are not ready to fight. We tried fighting and it didn’t work for us,” he said.

Chief Priest also commended the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for maintaining a close working relationship with the federal government, noting that such cooperation has contributed to development efforts in the state.

He further praised Seyi Tinubu, describing him as a unifying figure who has helped strengthen relationships across ethnic and regional lines.

Reflecting on the last election, the businessman acknowledged that he had previously opposed Tinubu but now views that decision as a political miscalculation.

“Politics is a game…we don’t want to lose again and we will never waste our votes again,” he added.

He also expressed optimism that the growing support for the president could evolve into one of the largest political movements in Nigeria, promising stronger mobilisation ahead of future elections.

Chief Priest concluded by offering prayers for Tinubu’s success in office and called on Nigerians to embrace unity, cooperation, and partnership as the country moves forward.
